National Service Scheme (NSS)
Aims and Objectives :
National Service Scheme Committee’s vision is of Personality Development and life skills of volunteers through Community Services.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India.
- The programme aims to inculcate social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias.
- NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. In doing so, volunteers learn from people in villages how to lead a good life despite of scarcity of resources.
- It also provides help in natural and man-made disasters by providing food, clothing and first aid to the disaster victims.
Extension activities are under taken through NSS unit
- Conduct annual camp in rural areas
- Programs arranged –
- Blood donation camps
- Planting of trees, building suck pits
- Arrange street plays on burning social issues
- Awareness program regarding Banning on usage of Plastic.
(AIDS awareness, National Integration, Bomb explosion, Farmers suicide, Drug consumption)
- Participation in rallies ( Rally for fund collection Tsunami, Riot affected people in Dhule city, Sadbhavana rally, Human chain)
- Nirmalya sankalan( Residue collection to control water pollution at the time of farewell to God Ganesh)
- Participation of students in Gandhi Vichar Exam. – organized by Gandhi Philosophy Center
- Involvement of faculty members in various social organizations
- Student participated in Republic Day camp( Parade)
