M. D. Palesha Commerce College

In order to fill in the gap in the field of higher education the Dhule Education Society decided to startCommerce College and accordingly it was established in the year 1984. Since the very beginning aim was towards the Commerce Education and therefore the College is a single faculty college. One of the leading businessmen in Dhule city namely Mr. Manaklalji Dharmchandji Palesha, out of his affection and deep respect for D.E. Society, offered donation for this college. The naming ceremony of the college was performed on 15th December 1987 by the Bharat Ratna Shree Nanaji Deshmukh, the well-known social worker.

Our college is now regarded as the leading and a premier institution in the field of commerce, due to its performance in academic as well as other co-curricular & extra-curricular activities.

The College is affiliated with the Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon and College offers flexibility in courses within the framework of the University. Our College offers integrated course such as B.Com and computer oriented degree course B.M.S and P.G. Course M.M.S. Besides, students can opt for skill-based, job-oriented certificate courses to enhance their employability & job potential.

The College Campus is in the heart of the city. The campus has adequate space for all academic, administrative, co curricular and extracurricular activities.Institute is well equipped with independent classrooms, Library, seminar hall, NSS Room, Computer Lab,Exam Cell, IAQC cell, Common room for girls etc.

The Library has more than 17000 books and 37 journals / periodicals with a collection of rare books,dictionaries and research thesis. E-books & e-journals facility is provided with the help of INFLIBNET, NLIST programme. Our Librarymaintains E-Mail list of Students and question papers of previous examinations are made available to them ontheir E-Mail Id.

Results of the college are consistently worth appreciating which surpasses the University overall results of commerce faculty. Time and again Students have secured top positions in University Merit List.

Our college have proudly secured position in top 10 colleges in Sports at University level. Our students have won Silver medals in Mallakhamb and Judo at State level and National level. Besides this, our students have excelled in University level Youth festival by securing top prizes.

Our staff members and students have also won state level awards in research based event ‘Avishkar’.

Consistent efforts are being made for improving overall personality of students by organizing Soft Skill enhancement programs and organizing certificate courses for acquainting the students with practical world. Eminent personalities like President, Vice President of Prestigious Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Vice Chancellors of Universities have visited our college and guided the students for future course of action.

The Vision of the college is to impart quality commerce education with moral values for building a healthy society.

We enrich the students and faculty of the college by organizing variety of programs such as personalitydevelopment program,career counseling workshop, group discussion,poster presentation program etc. Such programs develop various facets of personality and develop creative,critical and analytical thinking.Programmes are organized for inculcating Entrepreneurial skills among the students.

College organizes University approved workshops on ‘Intellectual Property Rights’, Goods and Services Tax, Soft skill development for students’ awareness regarding latest development in economy.

Our college organizes workshops on syllabus-restructuring on behalf of University. The Students Feedback is referred to the University authorities for the enrichment of syllabi.

We have successfully shouldered the responsibility of conducting various Examinations of University for various courses. A state level seminar on ‘Examination Reforms’ was organized in the college and report of the same have been accordingly submitted to the government.

The college has signed MoUs with some local industries,Financial Institutes and CA firms to provide firsthandknowledge and experience of Industry culture for students of our college. The college also has madearrangement with some firms to provide work experience to the student.

Our endeavor for multifaceted development of students is reflected through various programs organized by the college. We focus not only on academic development but also on inculcating moral values among the students. Efforts are taken by the college to provide necessary assistance to students to acquire meaningful experiences in learning.

Every year College organizes annual gathering which gives students a platform to exhibit their talent. For developing student skills, College organizes Elocution Competition, Essay Writing competition, Cultural activities, NSS, Sports Events. College publishes ‘SANCHIT’ magazine annually to encourage students’ creativity.

The college organizes various programs for creating AIDS awareness by organizing lectures, rallies, streetplays, and essay competitions etc with the help of Red Ribbon club. Further, with the help of District Healthcentre, college organizes programs on awareness of Sickle cell. A Blood donation camp is one of our Nobelactivities for which the college has received certificate of appreciation. The College endeavors to createawareness on different socio-economic-educational issues by carrying out various extension activities and outreach programs in the adopted village.

The college enthusiastically participates in activities like plastic ban, clean India, tree plantation to preserve theenvironment and further, makes efforts to educate the people taking them towards cashless transactions.All these efforts lead to make the students sensitive, responsible and create patriotic feelings.

College provides free ship, scholarship, insurance facilities to the Students as per the government norms.Besides Government schemes students are benefited by financial assistance through earn and learn schemes and student welfare scheme.

All our members of staff and our students are socially committed and quality conscious. Our teaching and non & non-teaching staff are involved in number of social & cultural activities.

Our teachers have contributed significantly through prominent positions as members of University Authorities. Our faculty members have played significant role in curriculum designing and development of the subjects. Our Principal is presently shouldering the responsibility of Dean of Commerce and Mgt. Faculty. Other faculty members have played significant role as members of Board of Studies as well as Faculty Members. University have introduced CBCS pattern where our Principal played a significant role and University appreciated the same by giving him letter of appreciation.

One member of our faculty Mr. Vilas Chavan was selected by the University for the Post of ‘Director of Student welfare’ and was adjudged as Best N.S.S coordinator by the state Government.

Our non teaching staff Mr. Sanjay Kulkarni was awarded State Level P. V. Gadgil award for Investigative Journalism and recently he received a state level award for a book written by him.

Our faculty members have been sanctionedgrant from UGC and grant under VCRMS from K. B. C. North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon. Under theguidance of our Principal four students have been awarded Ph. D in the year 2018-2019. A good number ofresearch papers are with impact factor and books, chapters and proceedings with ISSSN/ISBN numbers have been published by faculty members.

The faculty is empowered with support activities like staff credit society, insurance policies, workshops for staff and nonteaching staff on skill development and automation awareness.

The College focus on implementation of e-governance in area of administration,admission, finance, examination.

One remarkable feature of our college is that in turn some of the parents of our students have donated funds for sponsoring prizes and shields to the students of our college for different activities & competitions. We work as a team.
