National Service Scheme (NSS)

Aims and Objectives :

National Service Scheme Committee’s vision is of Personality Development and life skills of volunteers through Community Services.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India.

  • The programme aims to inculcate social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias.
  • NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. In doing so, volunteers learn from people in villages how to lead a good life despite of scarcity of resources.
  • It also provides help in natural and man-made disasters by providing food, clothing and first aid to the disaster victims.

Extension activities are under taken through NSS unit

  • Conduct annual camp in rural areas
  • Programs arranged –
    • Blood donation camps
    • Planting of trees, building suck pits
    • Arrange street plays on burning social issues
    • Awareness program regarding Banning on usage of Plastic.

(AIDS awareness, National Integration, Bomb explosion, Farmers suicide, Drug consumption)

  • Participation in rallies ( Rally for fund collection Tsunami, Riot affected people in Dhule city, Sadbhavana rally, Human chain)
  • Nirmalya sankalan( Residue collection to control water pollution at the time of farewell to God Ganesh)
  • Participation of students in Gandhi Vichar Exam. – organized by Gandhi Philosophy Center
  • Involvement of faculty members in various social organizations
  • Student participated in Republic Day camp( Parade)
